I Never Heard It That Way

I was asked to teach a 7th grade boys class at my church a sexual purity class called True Love Waits. Well I was talking to one of our Jr. Highers parents about the study and she was telling me some things that she thought about the curriculum, and she gave me a definition (I don't know if it was hers) of what love is.

Love is wanting the security, happiness, and welfare of someone more than you want it for yourself.

I loved it. I've never heard it said that way. This gives light to 1 Corinthians 13. 1 Corinthinas 13 in so many ways sounds crazy, but if this definition of love is true, then it makes 1 Corin 13 make total sense.

Whether you're talking about romantic love or brotherly love, I think that's a cool definition.
